The required Dynamic Link
Library for the program you were running has either been erased from your hard
drive (best case scenario) or replaced with an incompatible version (worst case
scenario). 1. Start...Find (or search)...Files and Folders...Search for the filespec "IDLE.DLL" 2. If you find no copies, skip to step 3. If you find one copy, skip to step 5. If you find more than one copy, skip to step 9. 3. You found no copies. Reinstall the program you were getting the error in. 4. You should now be able to run the program correctly. 5. You've found one copy. Try to think back to when you first saw this error- chances are it was right after you installed a new program. Reinstall the program that you were in when you got the error. 6. Run the program you were in when you got the error. If you now don't get the error, reinstall the new program that caused you to get the error. 7. Now run the new program, if you don't get the error, run the other program *the one where you saw the error earlier*. If you do get the error, reinstall the other program. 8. Now try to run the NEW program. If it runs, you're fine. If it complains about IDLE.DLL, then you won't be able to install both programs on the same machine and have them work reliably. 9. You've found multiple copies of IDLE.DLL on your machine. Right Click on each copy, and check the properties. Find the one with the latest Date/Revision code. 10. Get the full path to the
latest copy of IDLE.DLL. Go to Start...Run. In the runbox type: 11. Run the program where you saw the error again. If you still get the error, return to step 9, and redo instructions with the next most recent file. Answer provided by Theodore Seeber:
